Congratulations to the following Outstanding Students!

Students in Mrs. Sam Edward’s second grade class at Woodland Elementary are so thankful for all of the amazing books, bean bags, and lap desks they’ve received thanks to the 35j Literacy grant! 📚❤️ Our DIISD early literacy coaches have been busy fulfilling orders and delivering supplies to our local teachers.

Survey closes tomorrow, Friday, November 15th!
The ISD is participating in an early literacy and family participation grant through the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement and Potential (MiLEAP) and we need your assistance! Through the MiFamily Engagement Centers grant (Section 35i), MiLEAP is developing a statewide media campaign designed to help parents and guardians improve their awareness of literacy practices and increase participation in literacy development activities. The first step of the campaign focuses on research. Please fill out the survey below.

Thank you for your time!

Today, on behalf of the ISD, we recognize the brave men and women who have served our great nation with courage, dedication, and sacrifice. Our very own, Darren and Rob shared that they are Veterans from the United States Air Force.
When asked if you would like to share something from being in the military, Darren wrote: It was an incredible journey that forged lifelong bonds and granted me membership in a brotherhood beyond compare. I explored destinations I'd never dreamed of because of making an unwavering commitment. The training I received and the experiences I had are truly unique, setting me apart from most. Whether stationed in a tropical paradise or a remote, challenging location, I embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm and made unforgettable memories. This journey not only shaped my character but also instilled in me a strong sense of discipline, resilience, and a deep appreciation for service and sacrifice. It's an experience I wouldn't trade for the world.
Thank you again! Happy Veterans Day to all who have served!
