DIISD Provides MAASE Paraeducator Bootcamp for Local Schools
The Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District (DIISD) recently hosted a MAASE Paraeducator Bootcamp for paraeducators from Norway-Vulcan Area Schools and Breitung Township Schools. The training was facilitated by Jayci McInnis, Special Education Supervisor, and Angel Inglese, General Education Director, from the DIISD.
Held at the Bay West campus, the bootcamp provided paraeducators with professional learning designed to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and confidence in supporting students in their school settings.
This training marks the first Paraeducator Bootcamp offering for the 2026–27 school year. DIISD will continue providing the training throughout the school year, with upcoming sessions planned for paraeducators from North Dickinson County School, Forest Park School, West Iron County School District, and the DIISD.
The MAASE Paraeducator Bootcamp is being offered through funding from the Grow Your Own Grant, which supports efforts to develop and strengthen the local education workforce. Providing professional learning opportunities for paraeducators is one way the DIISD is investing in the individuals who play an important role in supporting students and schools across the region.
Through ongoing professional learning opportunities such as the MAASE Paraeducator Bootcamp, the DIISD is committed to supporting paraeducators and providing them with practical tools and strategies they can use in their daily work with students. 📝 Qualifications We're Looking For:
Education: An Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (or a related field) with a passion for continuous professional growth.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of successful experience in a licensed preschool or childcare program.
Skills: In-depth knowledge of child development, a warm and sensitive approach to families, and a valid driver's license (driving may be required).
Physical Requirements: Ability to physically manage, lift, and interact with students of varying sizes and abilities.
