Dorothy Occhietti Dickinson County Vocational Scholarship

​The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a Dickinson County High School Student who desires to further their technical education.  The scholarship shall be granted for a period of one school year and is not renewable.  The applicant must be pursuing a one or two year technical program, certificate program, or two year Associate Degree program.  Applicants pursuing four year programs are not eligible for the scholarship. Applications will be available in the Spring.

​Michael Mulligan, President of the Dorothy Occhietti Dickinson County Vocational Scholarship Association recently announced the scholarship winners for this year. Applicants must be graduating from a Dickinson County High School and enrolling in a two-year technical program, associate degree, or certificate program. This year’s recipients are: Gage Gendron attending Advanced Welding Institute, Mckenna Trulock attending Bay College and Garrett Veale attending Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in the fall.  

The Association would like to extend gratitude to all of the business partners that generously donated to the scholarship fund this year. Donors this year include: Dennis Carollo, KAAD Family Denistry, Fleury, Singler & Company, P.C., Okler Construction & Services, Lake Shore Systems, and 41 Lumber.

Since its inception more than 40 years ago the Association has awarded over 85 scholarships totaling more than $80,000. Mr. Mulligan would like to extend a sincere thanks to members of the scholarship committee who attend meetings and analyze applications each year. Current members include: Mr. Al Pirkola, Mr. Jerry Picucci, Mr. James Petroff, Mrs. Patti Arnold, Mr. Paul Bonsall, and Mr. Cole Smith.
