Electronic & Robotic Technologies I, II, III

Prerequisite:  None

The Electronic & Robotic Technologies program at the Technical Education Center introduces students to the electrical, electronics, robotics and automation technology career fields.  This course will provide students with basic foundational skills for any related career path they may choose i.e. engineering, computers or electronic repair.  Students enrolled in this program will learn basic skills and component identification, schematic reading (electronic blueprints), soldering and component replacement, use of electrical tools and testing equipment, residential wiring and the fundamentals of designing, building and programming robotic and automation systems.  Student learning will take place through classroom lecture as well as hands on laboratory exercises including individual and group experiences.  Students completing this program will have a major advantage should they choose to further their education at a two or four year technical college program in the engineering or technician fields.  Opportunities also exist for students to apply for an apprenticeship program or enter directly into the work-force at area businesses performing electronic assembly or repair.  Based on student achievement and the number of years successfully completed, students may be aligible for college credit.
