The General
Services Department of the Dickinson-Iron I.S.D provides leadership and
coordination for direct and indirect services to students within each
of our six
local districts. Day to day direct services to students
are provided through the Department of Early
Childhood Education, Special
Education and Technical
Education. The General Services
Department provides pupil accounting, pupil attendance and other
regulatory functions relative to local school districts. Professional
development for educators, curriculum consultation to local educators
and districts, coordination of gifted and talented resources, distance
learning capability and educationally based Internet access are just some
samples of the many types of services available from the department.
Technical assistance,
monitoring and compliance on state and federal programs, their requirements
and regulations are provided to school districts in the area. The Dickinson-Iron,
Menominee Math, Science & Technology Center
is housed within the General Services Department & offers in-services,
training, & workshops for teachers and activities and events for
area students in math, science and related fields. A curriculum and
materials lending library is located in the department for use by area
educators.
The department works
cooperatively with local business and industry, community organizations
and higher education to provide community connected educational opportunities.
The overall commitment of the General Services is to provide the highest
level of services and support to school districts, teachers, students,
their families and the community.
