The Dickinson-Iron Technical Education Center first opened its doors in the fall of 1976.  For 30+ years we have provided our community with quality technical education programs and services. Each year the Tech Center serves approximately 500 students resulting in more than 15,500 students served.

The Technical Center is dedicated to providing area high school students with technical skills, academic skills, and employability skills which will allow them to achieve success in post-secondary education, the work force, or the military. Each of our nine programs employs a highly trained instructor who is an expert in their occupational area. Since 80% of higher paying jobs require technical skills the Tech Center is a great place for students to experience hands-on training which is invaluable in helping them establish their future employment goals. All of our students are encouraged to pursue a two-year technical or associates degree or a four-year bachelors degree. Each program at the Tech Center offers students college credit and advanced placement in these aligned occupational post-secondary degree programs.

We are currently undergoing major changes to the curriculum in all of our programs. We are adding newly developed Technical Standards, Technology Standards, Career and Employability Skills Standards and National Career Cluster Standards. This commitment ensures the high quality and appropriate content needed by our students to achieve success in the post-secondary or employment environment.

Our Mission
The staff of the Dickinson-Iron Technical Center believes hands-on technical education, in a safe and orderly environment, will provide students of all ages the opportunity to transfer their academic knowledge into today's technological world; thus helping students to develop positive attitudes toward life, stressing employability skills.  We are dedicated to helping each student achieve his/her highest potential.
