College Credit for Technical Education Students
Students at the Dickinson-Iron Technical Education Center and in Iron County are eligible to take advantage of post secondary Articulation Agreements with area technical schools, community colleges, and universities. Articulation Agreements afford eligible students the opportunity to receive college credit for course work that has been completed and documented. Students may earn up to 8 college credits if they meet eligibility criteria between their class and the corresponding college. Articulation Agreements permit students to save money and time since they can avoid repeating redundant course work. This arrangement is a significant advantage for students as they work toward college degrees or certifications.
Paul Bonsall, Principal at the Tech Center said “The Articulation Agreement process we have developed is a huge advantage for the increasing number of Tech Ed graduates who are taking advantage of advanced post secondary educational opportunities. These agreements jump start their college experience by providing advanced placement in the program of their choice, saving them considerable time and money in the process.” Technical Education teachers have worked hard to develop these agreements as their curriculums must be closely scrutinized by each post secondary institution. Developing these agreements is labor intensive but the benefits afforded to Tech Ed graduates are well worth it.
