One of the functions of the Intermediate School District (ISD) is to provide programs for students with very special needs. These classrooms are located in local district buildings so that students can be included with their peers as much as possible. Since many of our students do not attend school in their local district, we also provide transportation. The ISD operates
4 classrooms for Moderately Cognitively Impaired (CI): 4 Early Childhood
Developmental Delay (ECDD) classrooms for pre-school children: There is a combination classroom in North Dickinson for Hearing Impaired and CI students grades K-12. The Life Skills Classroom at Cowboy Lake involves students from local districts who need hands-on life skills instruction. The house is provided by Wisconsin Electric and we contract with TRICO for the program coordinator. This program is intended for middle school age students, they are transported to the program on the local district's vocational buses. Other services
provided by the Intermediate include: If you have any
questions about the ISD Special Education Programs, please feel free
to call our office. |
