Substitute Teaching Registration Information
Substitute teachers wishing to sub for the school districts of Breitung, Iron Mtn, Norway, Forest Park and West Iron may now register through PESG by accessing this link. Those wishing to substitute teach at North Dickinson County School District may register through PCMI. MI school retirees wishing to substitute teach for any of the local school districts may register through Patty Deyaert and download the 2014-2015 MI School Retiree Substitute Teacher Packet by accessing this link.  An appointment is required.  I-9 Instructions.
            The Dickinson-Iron ISD will hold its biennial election on June 1, 2015 to fill two positions on the DIISD Board of Education.  The terms of Hans Baij – North Dickinson and James Nocerini, Sr. – Forest Park will expire on June 30, 2015.
            There are restrictions on the eligibility of the candidates.  No more than two board members shall be from the same school district, unless there are fewer districts than there are positions to be filled, and Section 612 now provides that not more than three members of the ISD Board may be serving at the same time as a member of the board of a constituent district, this limitation does not apply until the expiration of the current terms of those school board members.
            The term of office for Intermediate Board Members is six years.  The elected positions currently held by Hans Baij and James Nocerini, Sr. is six-year terms.  The As per Section 614 of the Revised School Code, the Intermediate Board shall be elected biennially by an electoral body composed of one member of the board of each constituent district who shall be designated by the board of which that person is a member. 
Nominating petitions and affidavits of identity must be filed with the Dickinson County Clerk 30 days prior to the election.  This year’s deadline is May 4, 2015.  Petitions must be signed by a minimum of 40 electors (registered voters) of the combine constituent districts of the ISD and a maximum of 100 or a $100.00 nonrefundable fee may be filed in lieu of a petition.
